His father is Milton Joseph Parsons, Jr., his mother is Judy Ann, and his sister is Julie Ann Parsons. His mother and sister are teachers by profession.

Jim’s passion for acting started at an early age, he was six years old when he played the role of a ‘Kola-Kola’ bird in a school play ‘The Elephant’s Child’, it was then he decided to become an actor. In his junior year in high school, Jim landed a role in a play ‘Noises Off’, this is where he fully established a relationship with his character in play, and understood what it means to be an actor who is honest on stage. His young acting talent was inspired from sitcoms, notably ‘The Cosby Show’, ‘Family Ties’, and ‘Three’s Company.

Jim’s career in acting started as he auditioned and played the role for on stage theatre performance while he was still at school, continuing to his university years, including the creation of a theatre company.
His journey to stardom started when he was in New York City, working in Off-Broadway productions having made several television appearances. One of his notable start off appearances is doing a commercial by Quiznos in 2003.
He also made recurring appearances with his role in a television show called ‘Judging Amy’ and in ‘Ed’. He is seen in the movies ‘Garden State’ and ‘School for Scoundrels’, playing a minor role.
Jim shared that he has an estimate of 15 to 30 pilot audition tapes for shows that he wants to be casted however it was a failed attempt as no one would purchase and produce it. Not until his big break, when The Big Bang Theory show came.
