Early Life

Dan Bilzerian was born on the 7th of December year 1980. He’s an american who was born in Tampa Bay, Florida. Dan’s Father, Paul Bilzerian, was known as a prominent private equity or what we call as corporate takeover specialist in the early 1980s.

Dan is also an Armenian descent through the genes of his father. As early as 36 years old, Paul had already made his self-made $40 million dollar fortune, and this is through effort and skills alone.

Unfortunately, by the year of 1988, Paul was given a verdict of tax and security fraud. Dan was still eight years old by that time. Paul then declared bankruptcy in the year 2001 who claimed to have $15,000 dollars only in his assets and is having $140 million worth of debt. 

Dan’s family consists of a small group. His father, Paul. His mother, Terri Steffen, and a brother named Adam who is also a fellow poker player. At their peak, the family had lived in one of the largest homes located in Tampa.

A 28,000 square foot mansion which consists of 10 bedrooms. At the year of 2016, the house was foreclosed when Paul relocated to the Caribbean to escape arrest.

Before Dan’s father, Paul, was indicted, like what every good father does, he setted up trust funds both for Dan and Adam. Although the amount of these funds were unclear, it is clear that this contributed to Dan’s present-day’s luxurious lifestyle.

Dan Bilzerian Career

Before Dan reached what he is today, he joined the Navy in 1999. In the year 2000, Dan even went on to undergo one of the hardest training known, which is SEAL training, and completed the hell weeks.

Although he completed the training, he was then kicked out of the program weeks before the graduation due to having a disagreement with one of the administrators of the program. He left the Navy and decided to enroll at the University of Florida where he decided to major in Criminology and Business. 

Poker is one of the widest card games in the world as it does bring a lot of money to the Casino industry and as well to lucky players. In the year of 2009, Dan decided to start his professional poker playing career.

In the 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event, he was lucky to even finish the 180th place. This scenario turned out to be one of his most successful sanctioned poker events.


He topped the amount of $36,000 dollars as his winning. Today, Dan is considered as one of the very best in terms of playing poker. Though his official career winnings are considered small, he claimed to have won millions of dollars and even tens of millions in some private events. 

If you have been following poker events, then you would know an event where Dan reportedly had won a huge amount of $12.8 million dollars. After winning the said event, Dan rushly took a private jet destined to Mexico just to celebrate.

In that year alone, Dan claimed that he gained $50 million dollars by just playing poker alone. Dan had lost more than $3 million on at least three different occasions on three different events.

He was nicknamed “Funniest Poker Player on Twitter” by the Bluff Magazine. He is also the co-founder of Victory Poker. 

Dan was not known by just his poker career but also on different films he played on. Some of these films are “Olympus Has Fallen”, “Lone Survivor”, “Extraction”, The Equalizer”, “The Other Woman”, “Cat Run 2” and “War Dogs”.

The producers of Lone Survivors were sued by Dan complaining that he had loaned the company the amount of $1 million in exchange for a screen time minimum of 8 minutes and 80 words of dialogue.

However, in the film’s final version, his role ended up being less than one minute with a quick line of dialogue.


His lawsuit had sought over $1.2 million which is 20% more than his original loan. The complaint was then dropped since Dan had gained so much publicity because of the issue and later on gained $1.5 million on his investment due to the film’s success. 

Dan Bilzerian had previously announced that he will be running for President in the United States in the year 2015 of June. However, he ended up endorsing Donald Trump in the next year.

In the month of August of 2018, Dan went to Armenia alongside his Brother, Adam and father, Paul to take their oaths to obtain and be Armenian in citizenship. While he was in Armenia, he spent his time enjoying himself with the firing range. 

Dan spent almost 10 years living in Hollywood Hills, Bel Air and Las Vegas. Dan does think very well in terms of tax. His primary residence is located in Las Vegas, Nevada for tax purposes only.


In the year 2014, he spent $4.1 million to purchase a 5-bedroom home located in Summerlin South. He later sold that house in the amount of $5.1 million dollars and then purchased a new one that costs $10 million dollars which is located nearby.

In 2018, he rented an enormous four-story house which has 12 bedrooms Bel Air mansion which is reportedly to have a rental amount of $50,000 per month.

The house is so huge that it consists of a two-lane bowling alley, a wine cellar, five bars, a sports room, and even a movie theater.
